J and J Needle Art

J and J Needle Art is a family-run business now located in the beautiful new Bakerview Square in Bellingham, Washington. Jeaninne and Joseph Kahan have been in business since 1990, providing Whatcom County and beyond with an array of supplies for needlepoint, cross stitch, crewel, hardanger, knitting, and crocheting. In addition to supplies, J and J Needle Art also provides custom designs for needle art, books, classes, and hand painted canvases.

Jeaninne and Joseph Kahan

Jeaninne and Joseph immigrated to the United States from Romania in the 1960's. After living across the US working as civil engineers, Joseph suffered a debilitating stroke, leaving him unable to work as a civil engineer. Unfettered by this, Jeaninne and Joseph decided to retire from civil engineering and devote their time to running a business based on Jeaninne's long time hobby of needle arts. They opened their business in 1990 and have served Bellingham, lower B.C. and surrounding areas ever since.

The owners of J and J Needle Art put the "family" into family business. The environment of J and J Needle Arts is warm and welcoming, and their skill and knowledge of needlepoint, cross stitch, crewel, hardanger, knitting, and crocheting goes far beyond the generic information you get from "big box stores." Jeaninne provides individual classes on different types of needle art and works with her clients to ensure they completely grasp the skills and concepts she teaches. Joseph specializes in creating award winning custom designs and charts for needlepoint cross stitch.
